Description of Course:
Does your gifted child have learning needs beyond what are typically addressed in school? Learn effective advocacy skills that foster appropriate responses from educational personnel. What is required to document a gifted child’s unusual needs? Which tests should be administered? What do the scores mean?  What options should you ask for? What educational provisions make a real difference? How do you approach the school for advanced work? What can you do with children who are losing motivation to learn? What learning opportunities exist outside school? How can you create a tapestry of successful options?
 
 
Presenters:
Bobbie Gilman, M.S., is the Associate Director of Gifted Development Center, and grateful veteran of 28 years working with gifted families. She consults with parents worldwide, plans testing, guides educational planning and helps parents advocate effectively for children at all levels of giftedness, K-12. A parent herself, she found that her first child should have come with a manual. Now she has written four of them! 
 
Linda Silverman, Ph.D., founded and directs Gifted Development Center, which is celebrating 40 years of service to the world community. She is passionate about gifted children and admires their parents.
