Gifted Grandparents

Grandparents for Gifted

Sunday, September 7th, is Grandparents’ Day.  To honor the important role of grandparents, throughout the month of September, the Gifted Development Center will offer a $200 discount on comprehensive assessment to all grandparents who wish to support their grandchildren’s giftedness. Grandparents are also welcome to use this $200 discount for comprehensive assessment of their own giftedness.

Are you a gifted grandparent?

We define giftedness as an inborn set of characteristics with implications throughout the lifespan. Are your children gifted? Are your grandchildren gifted? Guess what! Our clinical experience, as well as genetic studies, indicates that giftedness runs in families. Sometimes we concentrate all our attention on the education of gifted children, and forget that gifted ex-children have unique needs and experiences, as well.

How has the experience of being a gifted person shaped your life?

  •   Do you wonder why you feel and think differently from others?
  •   Do you crave intellectual stimulation?
  •   Do you need to feel like your life has meaning?
  •   Do you understand your own giftedness?
  •   Are you wondering what direction to take now in your life?

The Gifted Development Center has been in operation for 35 years, and many of our staff members are grandparents. We thoroughly enjoy this phase of our lives and can help you do the same. We can help you grow yourself into the next chapter of your life.  We offer:

  •   Consultations
  •   Counseling
  •   Workshops
  •   Assessment

Many of the children we tested 20, 25, 30 or 35 years ago are now parents themselves. If you brought your children for assessment, you understand firsthand how that experience changed their lives. Assessment provides a solid, objective basis for K-12 Educational Planning. Can you provide the same life-changing opportunity for your grandchildren? Can you help other children whose families cannot afford assessment?

If we have been of service to you and your family, please remember us in your annual giving. We want to be there for your grandchildren and great grandchildren. We can only do that with your support.
